LUCKY DAY’S SCONES… PERFECT FOR A SUNDAY AFTERNOON

Wandering around York last friday, we came across Lucky Days cafe.

We liked the look of it and  so stepped inside.

I could go on about what a great time we had and how tremendous the food was.

But, what really made a lasting impression were the fabulous blueberry and orange scones, with blueberry and lavender jam (from Bracken Hill foods ) and cream.

Obviously, I wasn’t the only one to be blown away by the  all round loveliness of their culinary creation.

When I asked for the recipe they were happy to give me a printed up recipe card for a 50p donation to charity.

This makes a refreshing change.

So many restaurants and cafes go all quiet and defensive when you ask for their recipes.

Rather than sharing their recipes, they feel that their whole business will collapse if others know the ‘secrets’ to their cooking.

One side of the recipe card described how to bake the blueberry scones, the other outlined how to bake a savoury scone.

So, when we got home, we gave the recipe a go.

They were delicous … lucky days indeed.
