My daughter and I have been practising making ‘mocktails’ (non-alcoholic cocktail drinks) today for the children at a New Years Eve party in London on Sunday.
They were pretty easy to do (once we tracked down the candy floss – which we found for sale in the local Post Office of all places).
We made a variety, some using sorbet, some using candyfloss, with popping candy around the rim too.
They were spectacular to look at and a lot of fun to make.

This is what we did…
1.First dip the rim of the glass in a plate of honey
2.Then roll the rim around a plate of popping candy
3. Add candy floss or sorbet
4. Decorate with cocktail umbrellas, mint, fruit etc
5. Pour lemonade or soda water over .
6. Enjoy.

Embellish and Create was born because we wanted to produce a family lifestyle blog that was just a little bit different.
It documents ideas, activities, experiences and pastimes that enrich and embellish our own lives. It also helps to create and capture new positive family experiences.
The blog helps us document what we like, what we’ve been up to and what we think about a whole range of creative and lifestyle issues.
Creativity – like all good things – starts at home. Simple every day experiences can become the spark that creates something new and positive.
We try to make the most of life. We embellish on what we’ve got and create something new. Hopefully this blog will allow others to share in our experience.
Do share your thoughts, tips and advice with us.
