There are quite a few places where you can now paint a plate which is quite good fun.

The pottery in the quaintly named village of Honeybourne near Evesham takes it to a new level.

Here you can actually learn to throw a pot on the wheel, and then use real slips and glazes to decorate.

You have to wait around a month for Alan and his wife Annabel  to fire your creation in their kilns. You can then pick it up or let them post it to you.

It’s a great introduction to pottery. We loved it.
