Today we used a gelliplate for printing and had some interesting results.
The technique is similar to monoprinting on glass sheets favoured by artists such as Tracy Emin. You get a ‘reverse ‘ print.
We used water based printing inks from hobbycraft rather than acrylics which tend to dry too quickly. We made several prints with a variety of paper cut outs as well as bubble wrap and textured ribbon for effects. Pleasing results.
Handy tip – use a spray bottle and wipes between colour changes.
